The Stables
Three rooms along one long wall, built for a group that wants to be together and apart.

Amenities
- Wood heater
- Full kitchen
- Seats ten
- Fire pit
- Dogs welcome
Six stalls became three bedrooms and one very long room. The proportions are odd in a way we decided not to correct — the living space is twelve metres end to end and only four across, so it reads as a series of places to sit rather than a single room, which turns out to be exactly what a group of six wants.
The bedrooms are along the back wall, each in a former stall, each with its own door to the yard. Two have queens; the third has a double and is slightly smaller, which is the room you give to whoever arrives last. Two bathrooms, so the mornings work.
Groups
This is the cottage we built for people arriving together. The table seats ten, the kitchen has two ovens, and the fire pit in the yard is the actual centre of the place from about four in the afternoon.
If your group is larger than six, book The Stables and Wren Cottage together — they share the yard, so it works as one property with two front doors. Ask us about it; there is a rate for the pair that is better than two separate bookings.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome here and only here. There is a gate, the yard is fenced, and the floors are concrete and slate throughout. We ask that they stay off the furniture and out of the other cottages’ gardens, and that you mention them when you enquire so we know to leave the yard gate shut.
